Welcome to the
December 2007 Quarterly Lilyquist Family Online Newsletter!
Sometimes it is hard to get together with family more than
once or twice a year. Hectic schedules, children's activities and work commitments can
prevent families from seeing each other more often.
What better way to stay in touch over long distances than with a online
family newsletter? While a newsletter will never replace face to face communication, it's
a fun and easy way to keep family members up-to-date on recent events in our lives. |

Don and
Betty Lilyquist

February 19, 1945 is a very important day in history. Do you know why
its so important? Its the day that my mom and dad, Betty and Don (Bill)
met on a blind date at Chester Park in Duluth. They went to a toboggan party there
with other couples. Three years later the couple traveled with Bettys parents to the
West Coast, tenting along the way
and visiting relatives as they went. On Christmas Eve that year (1948), Don gave
Betty an engagement ring, and the couple married on August 20, 1949 in a beautiful
ceremony at First Methodist Church in
Duluth. The rest, as they say, is history.
